- Make up your mind to be happy. Learn to find pleasure in simple things.
- Make the best of your circumstances. No one has everything, and everyone has something of sorrow intemingled with gladness of life. The trick is to make the laughter outweigh the tears.
- Don't take yourself too seriously. Don't think that you should be protected from misfortune that befalls other people.
- You can't please everybody. Don't let criticism worry you.
- Don't let your neighbour set your standards. Be yourself.
- Do the things you enjoy doing but stay out of debt.
- Never borrow trouble. Imaginary things are harder to bear than real ones.
- Since hate poisons the soul, do not cherish jealousy. Avoid people who make you unhappy.
- Have many interests. If you can't travel, read about new places.
- Don't hold postmortems. Don't spend your time brooding over sorrows or mistakes. Don't be one who never gets over things.
- Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself.
- Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy.
This is a blog to post the meaningful messages I gathered from emails, forwarded messages or anywhere else which I have stored over the years. Take note that I do not write them on my own - just merely copying and posting them up here. Enjoy! =)

Do you know?
Did anyone ever tell you,
just how special you are.
the light that you emit might even light a star.
Did anyone ever tell you how important you make others feel
somebody out here is smiling about love that is so real
Did anyone ever tell you that many times when they were sad
your email made them smile a bit
in fact it made them glad
for the time you spend sending things
and sharing whatever you find
There are no words to thank you
but somebody thinks you are fine
just how special you are.
the light that you emit might even light a star.

Life is a MISTAKE!
If a barber makes a mistake,
it is a new style...
If a driver makes a mistake,
it is an accident..
If a doctor makes a mistake,
it is an operation...
If an engineer makes a mistake,
it is a new venture...
If parents make a mistake,
it is a new generation...
If a politician makes a mistake,
it is a new law...
If a scientist makes a mistake,
it is a new invention...
If a tailor makes a mistake,
it is a new fashion...
If a teacher makes a mistake,
it is a new theory...
If our boss makes a mistake,
it is OUR mistake...
If an employee makes a mistake,
it is a 'MISTAKE'
it is a new style...

it is an accident..

I've learned...
...that life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
...that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything that we ask for.
...that money doesn't buy class.
...that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
...that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
...that the Lord didn't do it all in one day...what makes me think I can?
...that to ignore the facts doesn't change the facts.
...that the less time I have to work, the more things I get done.

Things you can never undo
Story:
A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport. As she would need to wait many hours, she decided to buy a book to spend her time. She also bought a packet of cookies. She sat down in an armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace. Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down in the next seat, openend his magazine and started reading.
When she took out the first cookie, the man took one also. She felt irritated but said nothing. She just thought, 'What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would punch him for daring!'
For each cookie she took, the man took one too. This was infuriating her but she didn't want to cause a scene. When only one cookie remained, she thought, 'Ah...what will this abusive man do now?' Then, the man, taking the last cookie, divided it into half, giving her one half.
Ah! That was too much! She was much too angry now! In a huff, she took her book, her things and stormed to the boarding place. When she sat down in her seat inside the place, she looked into her purse to take her eyeglasses, and to her surprise, her packet of cookies was there, untouched, unopened! She felt so ashamed! She realized that she was wrong... she had forgotten that her cookies were kept in her purse. The man had divided his cookies with her, without feeling angered or bitter... while she had been angry, thinking that she was dividing her cookies with him. And now there was no chance to explain herself... nor to apologize.
Moral:
There are 4 things that you cannot recover.
1. The stone... after the throw!
2. The word.... after it's said!
3. The occassion... after the loss!
4. The time... after it's gone!
